President reaches US from Bolivia

President Abdul Hamid reached New York, USA, on Monday (New York time) after attending 'Commemorative Summit of G77 and China' in Santa Cruz of Bolivia. Deputy Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to the United Nations Md Mustafizur Rahman received President Abdul Hamid at John F. Kennedy International Airport at 2.39pm (local time), according to a message received in Dhaka from New York. Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to the United Nations AK Abdul Momen accompanied the President from Bolivia. Earlier, the President left Viru Viru International Airport of Santa Cruz in the early hours of Monday (Bolivia time). During his visit to USA, Hamid will meet UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on June 19 at the UN Secretariat. The President will be accorded two receptions during his visit to the USA — community reception on June 17 and another on June 18 by Kishoreganj Samity, New York. The President is expected to leave New York for home on June 21 and reach Dhaka on June 22, according to a news agency.
