President returns home

President M Zillur Rahman returned home Friday after attending an Islamic Summit and performing Umrah in Saudi Arabia, reports BSS.
President Rahman arrived at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport boarding a regular Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight at around 5.15 pm.
Finance Minister AMA Muhith, cabinet secretary, chiefs of three services, dean of the diplomatic corps, concerned high civil and military officials received him at the Airport here.
Foreign Minister Dr Dipu Moni who accompanied the president from Makkah also arrived Dhaka by the same flight.
During his visit, President M Zillur Rahman along with the heads of states and governments of the member countries of the OIC (Organisation of Islamic Conference) attended 4th Extraordinary Session of the Islamic Summit hosted by the Saudi King in Makkah Al-Mukarramah from August 14 to 15.
In his address to the closing ceremony of the summit, President Rahman urged the OIC member states to persuade the Myanmar government with political and economic support for ensuring dignified and prosperous living of their Muslim minorities (Rohingyas).
After joining the two-day summit, the President accompanied by his son Nazmul Hasan, MP, other family members and secretaries of President's Office performed Umrah at the Holy Ka'ba in Makkah.
During the Umrah, they offered a special prayer for the continuous peace and progress of Bangladesh and its people.
