Saturday, 25 October 2014

Bangladesh wants to strengthen its friendly relations with the countries of the Islamic world on all fronts and hopes that President Abdul Hamid’s participation in the World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) will play a significant role in this regard. The 10th WIEF will be held at the Madinat Jumeirah conference centre in Dubai, on October 28-30, said an official at the Foreign Ministry on Saturday. President Hamid, scheduled to leave here for Dubai on Monday, will have a chance to meet and exchange views with the top leaderships of the UAE and other participating countries during his stay in Dubai, said the official. It may be mentioned that President Hamid also attended the 9th WIEF held in London last year. The theme for the conference this year is ‘Innovative Partnerships for Economic Growth’. More than 2,500 participants are expected to attend the Forum which will address myriad economics- and business-related issues, with the objective of bringing together new and fresh ideas to transform the global economy and promote business, according to UNB.
