President shocked at Maqsudul\\\'s death

President Mohammad Abdul Hamid on Sunday expressed deep shock at the death of eminent scientist Professor Dr Maqsudul Alam, who discovered jute genome sequencing. In a condolence message, the president recalled his contribution to the field of agricultural science saying his death is an irreparable loss to the nation. Abdul Hamid prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members. Dr Maqsudul passed away at a hospital in Hawai in the United States early Sunday at the age of 60, according to a news agency.
