President stresses gaining skills on tech education

MUNSHIGANJ, June 27 (UNB): President Iajuddin Ahmed has stressed the need for gaining skills by students through technological education, as well as proficiency in English, to move together with the other countries of the world.
The President said this while inaugurating Residential Model School and College here Wednesday.
Iajuddin recalled the contributions of Atish Dipankar, Jagadish Chandra Basu and Deshbandhu Chittaranjan Das for which the district takes pride in. "So, it's our duty to appraise our next generation about their contributions."
He expressed the hope that the civil society would come forward to do that and play an important role in keeping alive the memories of these scholars.
"In this changed global system, we need to develop human resources, which is possible only through education and for that we'll have to achieve international standard in education," the President told the function.
He thanked the local administration, Ibrahim Memorial Trust and local people for their cooperation in setting up the Residential Model School and College in Munshiganj.
He said this educational institution has been established in line with the national curricula realising the need for technological education alongside Bangla.
The President said that an experienced and skilled army officer has already been appointed principal of the school and college for its infrastructure development and proper management.
