President to watch Super Cup soccer final Friday

President Zillur Rahman will enjoy the country's big budgeted Citycell Super Cup Football final at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka Friday, reports UNB.
Two titans of the country's sports- Dhaka Abahani Limited and Dhaka Mohammedan SC -- will play in the final of the heavyweight meet scheduled to start at 5pm. State-owned Bangladesh Television will telecast the final match live.
"Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who was expected to be the chief guest in Friday's final, declined to attend the function at the last moment for security reason," Tournament Committee Chairman and BFF member Harun-ur-Rashid told the news agency Tuesday evening.
In the two-leg semifinals, Dhaka Abahani Limited reached the final beating Brothers Union Club by 3-2 goals in the first semis and they drew goalless against the same opponent in the 2nd semis.
On the other hand, Dhaka Mohammad SC booked a seat for the final defeating Chittagong Mohammedan by 1-0 goal in the first semis and beat them again by 3-2 goals in tiebreaker after trailing by 0-1 goal in the stipulated 90 and extra 30 minutes in the 2nd semis Tuesday.
The country's leading eight teams are participating in the heavyweight soccer meet offering a prize money of Tk 10 million for the champion.
