Thursday, 31 December 2009

President Zillur Rahman has urged the Chief Justice (CJ) to take immediate steps for quick disposal of cases lying pending in courts.
"Take immediate steps for early disposal of the pending cases," the President told the newly appointed CJ M Tafazzul Islam who called on him at Bangabhaban in the city Wednesday, reports UNB.
During the meeting, the CJ told the President that he would take steps to introduce computerised trial procedures for easy classification of pending cases.
Justice Tafazzul Islam also said that he would take steps to arrange accommodation facilities in the Supreme Court. "There has not been any appointment of supporting staff for 14 years. I'll take the initiative in this connection."
President Zillur Rahman appreciated the assurance of the CJ and assured him of all-out support.
