President urges lions to build prosperous Bangladesh

President Iajuddin Ahmed Friday called upon Lions community to extend their philanthropic endeavours with optimum dedication for building a happy and prosperous country, reports BSS.
"Lions Clubs International have ample opportunities for widening their humanitarian activities in a country like ours," he said this while opening the Lions Golden Jubilee function as the chief guest here.
Lions Clubs International, District 315 B-2 Bangladesh organised the function at a city hotel to mark 50 years of their activities in the country.
The President said every Lion and Leo devote themselves for the well-being of the society as well as the humanity with the motto "We Serve".
Referring to the contributions of lions and leo members to the distressed people in the country, the President said, eye-camps and relief and rehabilitation activities during natural calamities being conducted by different Lions Clubs deserve appreciation.
"I appreciate the activities of the Lions Clubs and assure that my all out support would always be with you for the cause of humanity," Iajuddin said, adding, "I believe you have tremendous opportunities to serve mankind."
With District Governor M Shahjahan Khadem in the chair, it was addressed, among others, by International Director of Lions Clubs International Malik Khoda Boksh, Council Chairperson of Lions Multiple District 315 PK Roy and past council chairperson and Chairman of the celebration committee Advocate MA Kashem Bhuiyan.
