President\\\'s visit to strengthen ties with India : MEA

The visit of President Abdul Hamid to India will help further strengthen and expand the close bilateral relations between the two countries, said Indian Foreign Ministry, reports UNB.
"The visit of the Bangladesh President will contribute to further strengthening and expanding the close bilateral relations between our two countries," said a media note issued by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs.
This is the first visit by a ceremonial Head of State of Bangladesh since 1972, said the media note, adding that the President of India had paid a state visit to Bangladesh in March 2013.
President Abdul Hamid left Dhaka for New Delhi Thursday morning on a six-day visit at the invitation of his Indian counterpart Pranab Mukherjee.
While in India, President Abdul Hamid will meet President of India. He will also meet the Vice President of India, the Prime Minister, the External Affairs Minister and other senior leaders.
