Preventing abuse of social media
Tuesday, 12 April 2022
Nowadays, it is difficult for most of us to stay away from using social media platforms. They keep us updated on current affairs and connect with our near and dear ones. Unfortunately, many people have taken advantage of the absence of control on social media, and promote hateful or indecent contents. Some memes, posts and video clips do harm to our ethics and ethos. The licence to speak our minds is gradually transforming us into uncivilised and ill-mannered people.
Though many have access to the social media, few understand how to use them properly. People should be informed of the healthy use of social media. Around the world, social media and other online platforms are used to improve connectivity, learn skills via free courses, undertake freelance work, and more, which help both the individual and society. Therefore, we must also use online platforms to engage in productive activities and stimulate our minds.
