Prevention of malnutrition to reduce neonatal deaths stressed

RANGPUR, Nov 9 (BSS): The nutrition promoters and health volunteers could play vital role in preventing malnutrition of lactating mothers, pregnant women, babies and children to further reduce maternal and neonatal death rates in building a healthy nation.
Speakers said this at the inaugural ceremony of a six-day training course on 'Capacity Building of Health Volunteers' organised by World Vision Bangladesh (WVB) at its Fulbari Area Development Programme (ADP) Office in Fulbari upazila of Dinajpur today.
With Programme Officer of Fulbari ADP of WVB Badal Sangma in the chair, Fulbari ADP Manager of the NGO Pabitra B Costa addressed the inaugural ceremony as the chief guest.
Acting Programme Officer for Aladipur union of Fulbari ADP of the NGO Mrs. Pallabi Murmu and Health Programme Organisers Shahanur Akhter and Kanon Baroi also spoke.
A total of 47 nutrition promoters and health volunteers from Aladipur, Eluari, Betdighee and Kazihal unions under Fulbari upazila have been taking part in the training course that will conclude at the same venue on November 14 next.
