Preventive steps taken against bird-flu

KHULNA, Mar 29: Massive preventive measures have been taken following an outbreak of bird flu in this region by the District Livestock Department Khulna. Security measures have been strengthened surrounding the bird-flu affected areas. No bird-flu was detected after laboratory test of dead birds from 25 poultry firms of Khulna district during the last one month, official sources said. Source said that the poultry bird affected by Avian influenza was detected in Khulna in the first week of February.
