Price of coarse rice increasing in Bogra

BOGRA, March 20: Price of coarse rice in the local market increased by Tk 2-3 per kg in the district. The price was Tk 28 per kg in the local market a week back. But now it is sold at Tk 30-31 per kg.
Short supply is the reason of the price hike, sellers observed.
Increase of price in case of finer variety of rice is lower than that of the coarse rice. Finer variety of rice increased by Tk 1.00 per kg.
A week ago finer variety of rice was sold at Tk 38-39 per kg. Now it is sold at Tk 39-40 per kg.
Finer variety of lentil is now sold at Tk 88-90 per kg but it was sold at Tk 82-84 a week back. Flour is now sold at Tk 42-44 per kg.
Prices of various vegetables remained unchanged but price of beef increased by Tk 10 per kg. Beef was sold at Tk 170 per kg a week ago but now it is sold at Tk 180 per kg. Prices of fish have remained unchanged.
