Prices drop on lower competition

There was a larger weight on offer, which met with a fairly strong demand but as there was less competition, prices declined for all types. Blenders and Packeteers operated in good strength whilst there was fair interest from the Loose tea section of the market. Pakistan buyers bought a small weight, as they were mostly out-priced. Dusts were an easier market CTC LEAR 23,956 packages on offer met with a fairly strong demand at easier rates.

BROKENS: Good liquoring Brokens met with quite a strong demand but eased by Tk 4.00 to Tk 5.00 especially the smaller types and sold between Tk 134 and Tk 137. The remainder were also a good market but eased by Tk 4.00 to Tk 7.00.

FANNINGS: Good liquoring Fannings were in quite strong demand but were easier by Tk 4.00 to Tk 6.00 and these sold between Tk 135 and Tk 138 whilst others also declined by a greater margin particularly the plainest.

CTC DUST: 4,184 packages on offer met less demand at much easier rates. Good liquoring RDs/Ds met with fair competition but eased by Tk 6.00 to Tk 8.00. All others eased further by Tk 8.00 to Tk 12.00. Good liquoring CDs met with quite a good demand but were easier. Plainer types eased quite considerably. Blenders lent good support. Loose tea buyers continued to have fair interest.
