Prices of most essentials stable, claims BDR

Despite a little increase in the price of onion, prices of most essentials and vegetables remained stable in city markets, a market report of Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) said Monday, reports BSS.
The market report said onion is being sold at Tk 29 to Tk 32 per kg in ordinary city markets, including Kamalapur, New Market, Karwanbazar, Kalyanpur, Kachukhet and Mohammadpur, but the item is being sold at Tk 25 at BDR-run sales centres. In Kolkata, onion is being sold at Tk 23.21 per kg.
The price of coarse rice in different city markets ranged between Tk 23 and Tk 26 per kg Monday. The coarse rice is being sold at Taka 19 at BDR-run sales centres while in Kolkata, the report said, one kg of coarse rice is being sold at a price equivalent to Tk 19.64.
A packet of one-kg flour is being sold between Tk 32 and Tk 34 in ordinary city markets while the price of the item is Tk 26 at BDR-run sales centres. In Kolkata, flour is sold for Tk 25 per kg, the report added.
The price of imported lentil (mashur) is between Tk 62 and Tk 65 per kg in ordinary markets while it is being sold at Tk 54 at BDR-run sales centres.
