FE Report | Wednesday, 25 June 2008

Primary Dealers' Association of Bangladesh (PDAB) has been formed aiming to bring dynamism in the country's secondary bond market.

In a meeting Tuesday, the primary dealers (PD) approved the constitution of the PDAB and its memorandum of articles.

A 9-member executive committee, headed by SA Chowdhuy, chief executive officer of Sonali Bank, has been constituted to run the PDAB.

Syed Abu Naser Bakhtear Ahmed, managing director and chief executive officer (CEO) of state-owned Agrani Bank, chaired the meeting.

Earlier, the central bank of Bangladesh selected nine PDs - eight banks and a non-banking financial institution (NBFI) - to handle government-approved securities.
