Primary, Ebtedayee education terminal exams begin

Primary and Ebtedayee education terminal examinations for class-V students began Tuesday across the country with enthusiasm among the students and the guardians.
The two-hour examinations on Bangla started at 11am and continued till 1:00pm.
It is the largest public examination of the country as around 2.5million students appeared in the examination at 5,993 centres with seven overseas examination centres in Riyadh, Jeddah, Abu Dhabi, Qatar, Tripoli, Singapore and Berlin.
Among the examinees, some 21,57,907 candidates from primary and 3,31,133 candidates from Ebtedayee appeared in the examinations while only 4,049 candidates from English version sat for the examinations that will conclude on November 29.
According to the primary and mass education ministry sources, some 55,000 students will get scholarships on the basis of the performance in the examinations this year.
The results of the examinations will be published by December 27, the sources said.
