Prime accused confesses to Mymensingh 4 murders

MYMENSINGH, Dec 25 (UNB): The prime accused in the case of four murders, including a local Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal leader and three of his family members, on Thursday reportedly confessed to his involvement in the brutal killings.
Earlier, detectives arrested main accused Hafizur Rahman Tanu, 25, a helper of a bus owned by slain Bachchu, from Togni of Gazipur city early Thursday.
Tipped off, a team of Detective Branch (DB) of police launched a drive at Ershad Nagar early in the morning and arrested Tanu. Later, he was taken to the district DB office for interrogation.
During interrogation, Tanu reportedly confessed that he chopped and strangled Bachchu and three members of his family to death as Bachchu did not repay him (Tanu) Tk 80,000 which he had lent him one and half years ago for purchasing a vehicle.
Earlier on December 16, the bodies of Rafiqul Islam Bachchu, general secretary of Habirbari union unit of Sramik Dal, and his wife Parul Akhter and two daughters -- Jiniya Akhter, 6, and Rima Akhter - were found in their house in Bhaluka upazila of the district.
Later, Bachchu's father, Wares Ali, filed the murder case with Bhaluka Model Police Station on the fateful day against five people.
