Prime accused held in BNP leader killing

Police in a drive arrested the prime accused in the BNP leader Shamim murder case from Dhulia Paner Bazar in Baufal upazila of Patuakhali on Thursday. The arrestee was identified as Noman. Tipped off, a team of police conducted a drive in the area and arrested Noman for his alleged involvement in the killing of a local BNP leader on Thursday noon. AJM Masuduzzaman, officer-in-charge of Baufal Police Station, said Shamim, joint convener of Keshabpur union unit BNP, was stabbed to death allegedly by Noman over a family feud at Choumohoni Bazar in Keshabpur union on Wednesday. Noman was a cousin of Shamim. A case was filed with Baufal Police Station on Wednesday night. During primary interrogation, Noman confessed to his involvement in the killing, said the OC, according to a news agency.
