Prime accused in Mamun murder case arrested

Police have arrested the prime accused in the killing of motorcycle renter Mamun in Ullapara upazila in Sirajganj district. The arrestee was identified as Jahir Uddin, a resident of Pongkharu village in the upazila. Tajul Huda, officer-in-charge (OC) of Ullapara Police Station, said on secret information, a team of police launched a drive in Mohonpur Bazar area on Tuesday and arrested Jahir. Jahir was wanted in several cases including for murder and robbery, the OC added. Police said miscreants killed Mamun by slitting throat and snatched away his motorbike at Boltal in the upazila on February 19. Police later recovered the snatched motorcycle on March 2, according to UNB.
