Prime Bank elects Siraz, Shahnaz vice chairpersons

The board of directors of Prime Bank Ltd unanimously elected Quazi Sirazul Islam and Shahnaz Quashem, directors of the company, as vice chairpersons of the board for the next two-year term from June 1, 2009.
Mr Islam, a freedom fighter and former chairman of the bank, was elected a Member of Parliament in 1996 and 2001 elections. He is the Executive Member of Bangladesh Jewelers Association and former president of Baitul Mukarrum Business Associates.
He is also the chairman of City Hospital (burn hospital) and a member of the board of governors of People's University of Bangladesh. He is also the life member of Sandhani.
Mr Islam was awarded Kazi Jasimuddin Gold Medal, Maulana Akram Khan Gold Medal, Sufi Motahar Hossain Gold Medal and Atish Dipankar Gold Medal for his remarkable contribution in spreading education. He was also awarded MJF (Melvin Jones Fellow) Medal by the Lions International Foundation for his special contribution to social welfare.
