Prime Bank gets SAFA award '06

Prime Bank Ltd has been awarded 'merit certificate' from SAFA (South Asian Federation of Accounts) for the bank's best presented accounts on the basis of evaluation of annual report of the bank for 2006 in the banking sector category.
Prime Bank received the award consecutively for three years.
Union Minister of External Affairs of India Pranab Mukherjee was present on the occasion as the chief guest.
Chandra Wadhwa, president and members of the central council of the Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India, presided over the programme.
Additional Managing Director of the bank Nasiruddin Ahmed received the award from Central Bank of Sri Lanka Governor Ajith Nivard Caburaal at a valedictory session of global summit on 'Repositioning the Management Account' organised by SAFA in New Delhi on 12 January.
The award reflects the financial soundness, good governance, compliance with rules and regulations, adherence to international accounting standard (IAS), transparency and adequacy of disclosures in financial statements of the bank.
The bank also received the 1st prize of ICAB National Award-'06 for the best published accounts under the banking category.
