Prime Bank Limited, a leading private commercial bank, has launched its ATM (automated teller machine) service aiming to provide 24-hour services including ready cash, balance searching and instant mini-statement facilities to their clients.
The card holders of the bank may avail themselves of such facilities from 11 branches of the bank in the capital city initially from today (Tuesday), Managing Director (MD) of the bank M Shahjahan Bhuiyan said Monday.
The branches are Motijheel, SBC Tower (Dilkusha), Shantinagar, Eskaton, Panthapath, Elephant Road, Rampura, Dhanmondi, Gulshan, Banani and Wari.
"Our clients will avail themselves of the ATM service without paying any additional charges initially," Shahjahan Bhuiyan told the FE Monday replying to a query.
Three more branches will be brought under the newly-launched ATM service shortly, the MD of the second generation commercial bank said at a press conference at a city hotel.
The clients would be able to pay their utility bills like gas, electricity, water supply and mobile phone through these ATM machines, Bhuiyan noted.
A bilateral agreement has been signed with Dutch-Bangla Bank Limited as part of their coordinated efforts so that the depositors could easily draw money from the booths of all banks.
"Clients of both Prime Bank and Dutch-Bangla Bank will get equal facility in line with the agreement," the MD said, adding the bank is trying to expand its services to meet the growing demands of customers.
"Very soon, VISA and Master cards holders can avail their required services through these ATM machines and ATM card holders will be able to use those in the shops and markets for shopping through Point of Sale (PoS) machines," he added.
Additional Managing Director Nasiruddin Ahmed, deputy managing directors Mahbubul Alam and RQM Forkan, Senior Executive Vice-President Mukhter Hossain, SVP (Card) Adil Raihan and SVP (IT) Iqbal Hossain were, among others, present at the press conference.
