Prime Bank launches JCB cards

Prime Bank Limited recently launched JCB International Cards in Bangladesh.
JCB is a major international payment system dominating the world card market. It holds the position of 4th largest payment brand which is now issued from 17 countries around the globe including Bangladesh, said a press release.
JCB has over 24 million merchants and over a million cash advance locations in 190 countries and territories and has more than 82 million card members worldwide; JCB has formed alliances with more than 350 leading banks and financial institutions globally to increase merchant coverage and card member base.
 Governor of Bangladesh Bank Dr. Atiur Rahman launched the "Prime Bank JCB Cards" as the Chief Guest of the Program. Chairman of the Prime Bank Azam J Chowdhury, Ambassador of Japan in Bangladesh Shiro Sadoshima and Deputy President of JCB International Mr. Kimihisha Imada were also present in the program as the Special Guests. Head of Cards of Prime Bank A.H. Majumder delivered the welcome speech while the Managing Director & CEO of the Bank Md. Ehsan Khasru gave the Vote of Thanks.
Welcoming the JCB cards in Bangladesh, Chief Guest of the program Governor of Bangladesh Bank Dr. Atiur Rahman said "Japan is the largest development partner of Bangladesh. The continuous technical support of Japan is helping the country immensely to establish the 'Digital Bangladesh'. The launch of JCB cards in Bangladesh by Prime Bank will surely strengthen the economic relationship between the two countries one step ahead", he further added.
Addressing the audience of the program, Chairman of Prime Bank Limited Azam J Chowdhury said, "Prime Bank is launching JCB cards in Bangladesh as part of its relentless efforts to provide its customers newer & wider range of payment services. I am sure Prime Bank JCB card will attain significant business success in coming days." He also said, "I am happy that with the issuance of JCB card in Bangladesh, Prime Bank is enabling its customers to get the advantage of the Plastic Money across the globe."
The Deputy President of JCB International Mr. Kimihisha Imada said, "I must emphasize that the JCB card issuance by Prime Bank is not only the being the first case in Bangladesh, but also the first case in whole South Asian region." I strongly believe the business partnership with Prime Bank will be a crucial milestone for JCB in the whole Asian business expansion and I have strong confidence in JCB's business in Bangladesh where the market has a huge potential for growth as well as a favorite business environment for Japanese brand", he added.
The Ambassador of Japan in Bangladesh Shiro Sadoshima assured, "Japan will always work as a friend of Bangladesh; the pledge is further reinforced by the launch of JCB cards".
