Prime Bank launches new brand name for its Islamic schemes

Prime Bank Limited has launched a new and unique brand name called 'Hasanah' for its Islamic banking schemes which will now encompass and act as a common identity for all of its Islamic banking related products and services.
The Arabic word 'Hasanah' which is synonymous to good deed, welfare and bliss; would from now on serve as the umbrella term for all its Islamic banking services including Al Wadiha and Mudarabah products, investment products and remittance services.
"Keeping in mind the need and the mindset of the millions of religious minded people in the country, we find it appropriate to apply Islamic terms while referring to the services offered under Islamic banking scheme," Prime Bank's Chairman of the Board of Directors Azam J Chowdhury said on the eve of launching the brand.
"Until now, only five of our 65 branches offer Islamic banking services exclusively. But with the introduction of 24 hours online banking services; we will be able to offer Islamic banking services to our customers at anytime through any of the branches," Azam informed.
"Since introducing Islamic banking scheme in the country for the first time back in 1995, we have tried to act as a pioneer in the field," he asserted.
Later, he formally unveiled the new brand name.
Chairman of Bangladesh Shariah Council Mohammad Salahuddin and acting Managing Director of Nasiruddin Ahmed also spoke on the occasion.
Products and financial services that would be served under this brand name include Al-Wadiah and Mudarabah deposit and savings schemes, Bi- Muazzal, Bi-Murabah Bi-Salam and other investment schemes as well as Musharaka and Mudarabah schemes aimed at promoting partnership.
In addition, investment schemes like Hasanah Home Investement (Manjil), Hasanah Medical Investment (Shifa), Hasanah Home Appliances Investment Scheme (Asbab) and Hasnah Auto Investment (Burak) would also be operational under this brand name.
Also now that all prime bank branches are going online, any Prime Bank client willing to open an account or to deposit and draw money through any of its Islamic branches.
