Prime Bank outclass Brothers

Prime Bank Cricket Club won a high-scoring match against Brothers Union by five wickets in the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League (DPDCL) on Saturday, reports UNB.
It was Prime Bank's fifth consecutive and sixth overall win. On the other hand, Brothers suffered their fifth loss in seven matches of the league so far.
Sent in to bat first, Brothers posted a massive 330 for two wickets, thanks to brilliant centuries by Mizanur Rahman and Fazle Mahmud at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city.
Brothers lost their first wicket in 10 runs, but they had a massive second-wicket partnership of 193 between Mizanur and Mahmud. Miazanur fell for 100 off 109 deliveries but Mahmud remained unbeaten for 140 off 147 balls.
In the third wicket stand, Mahmud and Yasir Ali added 127. Yasir scored 61 off 37 balls.
Prime Bank skipper Anamul hit a half-century to give his side a solid start despite losing his opening partner Salman Hossain for 13.
In the second-wicket stand, Anamul and Easwaran posted 81 runs before Anamul got out for 54. In the third-wicket stand, Easwaran and Al-Amin added 79 runs. But Al-Amin fell for 52.
Meanwhile, Uttara Sporting Club beat Mohammedan Sporting Club by seven wickets in Savar in the DPDCL on Saturday.
In the day's other match, Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan (BKSP) tied with Shinepukur Cricket Club at Fatullah in the seventh round.
Mohammedan, sent to bat first, tumbled for only 193. The highest individual score for Mohammedan was 39 by Nadif Chowdhury. Shafiul Islam, who came to bat at number nine, was the second-highest scorer.
Mohammedan's top-order, comprising Avishek Mitra (21), Abdul Mazid (17) and Irfan Shukkur (16), failed to ensure a big score for the team. Raqibul Hasan (8) and Mohammad Ashraful (28) also disappointed.
For Uttara, Abdur Rashid and Asaduzzaman Payel bagged three wickets each while Sajjad Hossain took two and Anisul Islam Emon scalped one.
In reply, Tanzid Hasan hit a ton for Uttara to seal the game. He ended up with 101 off 120 with 10 fours and three sixes. Apart from him, Anisul Islam Emon (37) and Mohimenul Haque (22) also contributed with the bat.
In the other match, BKSP tied with Shinepukur Cricket Club. BKSP won the toss and batted first, posting 222 runs for eight wickets in 50 overs.
Prantik Nawroz Nabil and Abdul Kayium hit fifties for BKSP. While Prantik scored 81, Kayium fell for 70. Aminul Islam (35) and Akbar Ali (11) were the other batsmen to reach double-digit for BKSP.
For Shinepukur, Delwar Hossain bagged three wickets while Shoriful Islam took two.
In reply, Shinepukur ended up with 222 for nine wickets in 50 overs.
Shadman Islam (45), Sabbir Hossain (36) and Unmukt Chand (70) gave Shinepukur the required boost at the start but other batsmen failed to capitalise it.
For BKSP, Hasan Murad bagged three wickets while Abdul Kayium took two.
It was the third tied match after DPDCL achieved the status of List-A back in 2013-2014 season.
