Prime Bank retain top slot beating Kalabagan

Prime Bank Cricket Club retained the top slot in the Walton Refrigerator Dhaka Metropolis Premier Division Cricket League beating Kalabagan Krira Chakra by 47 runs in a 10th round curtailed over match at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city Thursday, reports UNB.
After the 10th round, Prime Bank CC and Abahani Ltd, which is in the 2nd slot, confirmed their super six berth securing 18 and 16 points respectively.
Kalabagan Cricket Academy took the 3rd slot with 14 points while Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club, Legends of Rupganj, Mohammedan Sporting Club and Victoria Sporting Club secured 12 points each.
These five teams will fight in the 11th round, beginning on December 14, to fill the remaining three berths in the super six.
In the day's match, sent into bat first, Prime Bank CC scored a massive 193 runs in fog-curtailed 25 overs match losing 6 wickets.
Number three Shadman Islam scored a half-century making team highest 54 runs off 51 balls with six fours and was adjudged man of the match.
Opener Soumya Sarker contributed 35 runs off 34 balls with three fours and two sixes. Taiabur Parvez (26), skipper Mahmudullah (22), Nurul Hasan (not out 16), Shuvagata Hom (15) and Saikat Ali (13) were the other double digit scorers for the side. Nasum Ahmed and Abdur Razzak grabbed three wickets each for 28 and 38 runs respectively, both bowled 5 overs.
Chasing a tough target of 194 runs, Kalabagan Krira Chakra were restricted to 146 for 9 in 25 overs.
Number four Tasamul Haque scored team highest 31 runs off 26 runs with four fours. Shamsur Rahman (29), Uttam Sarker (23), Jupitar Ghosh (not out 25), Elton Chigumbura (15) and Shahadat Hossain (not out 10) were the other double digit scorers for Kalabagan KC.
In the day's two other fog-interrupted curtailed-over matches, Abahani Ltd retained the 2nd slot with a 7-wickets victory over Kalabagan Cricket Academy, riding on Liton Kumar century at Khan Saheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah while Victoria Sporting Club beat Brothers Union Club by 28 runs at BKSP ground-3 in Savar.

Replying to Kalabagan CA's 185 runs, Abahani Ltd reached their target scoring 186 runs for 3 wickets in 32 overs, riding on an opening stand of 147 runs in 24.3 overs by Liton Kumar and Abdul Majid.
Liton Kumar smashed a century scoring 108 runs off 77 balls with 10 fours and five sixes to be adjudged man of the match while Abdul Majid scored 45 runs off 78 balls with four fours.
Besides, Rakibul Hasan (17) and Hamilton Masakadza (not out 13) were the other double digit scorers for Abahani. Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, Kalabagan CA were all out for 185 in 32.5 overs.
Brothers Union vs Victoria SC
Sent into bat first, Victoria Sporting Club amassed 203 runs for 6 wickets in 34 overs riding on a 4th wicket stand of 94 runs in 13.5 overs by Imrul Kayes and Nadif Chowdhury.
Number three Imrul Kayes scored team highest 72 runs off 73 balls with six fours and three sixes to be adjudged man of the match.
Earlier, in the opening stand, Jasim Uddin and Mahabubul Karim contributed 57 runs in 10.4 overs. Jasim Uddin scored 34 runs off 36 balls with seven fours and Mahabubul Karim scored 31 runs off 40 balls with five fours.
