Prime Bank signs deal with Post Office for remittance distribution

Prime Bank Limited, a leading private sector commercial bank, and Bangladesh Post Office (BPO) have entered into an arrangement for distributing overseas remittances, says a press release.brUnder the deal, the bank will utilize the largest network of about 10,000 outlets of BPO all over the country to facilitate distribution of inward foreign remittance to the beneficiaries across the country.brThrough this arrangement the bank will distribute remittances of non-resident Bangladeshis through Instant Cash, Electronic Money Order (EMO), traditional Money Order Service throughout the country.brEventually, beneficiaries in Bangladesh, especially those living in remote locations, would receive prompt delivery of remittance through the postal network of BPO.brA signing ceremony on remittance service was held between the two organisations at the conference room of BPO. Mahbubul Alam, acting managing director of Prime Bank Limited and Mobasherur Rahman, director general, Bangladesh Post Office signed and exchanged the documents on behalf of the respective organisations.brRQM Forkan, deputy managing director; Syed Mahbubur Rahman, deputy managing director, Md Sohrab Mustafa, executive vice president of Prime Bank and AKM Rafiqul Alam, additional director general (Postal Service), AKM Rafiqul Islam, director (Mails) of Post Office and other senior executives of both the organisations were present on the occasion.
