Prime Bank to play Abahani to win its maiden title
Sunday, 4 January 2015
League leader Prime Bank Cricket Club will play Dhaka Abahani Limited in the last super league match to confirm its maiden title of the prestigious Dhaka Metropolis Premier Division Cricket at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city Sunday, reports UNB.
The day's other super league matches: Prime Doleshwar SC will face Dhaka Mohammedan SC at Savar BKSP ground while Kalabagan Cricket Academy will meet Legends of Rupganj at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium, Fatullah.
The bankers' team topped the league table securing 24 points, two points ahead of their nearest rival Prime Doleshwar SC beating Dhaka Mohammedan SC by 20 runs in the penultimate round of super league Friday.
Prime Doleshwar SC closely followed the leader with 22 points while Abahani, already out of the race, securing 20 points after losing its super league match against Kalabagan Cricket Academy by one wicket.
A win in the last super league on Sunday against Abahani will make Prime Bank CC the new champions in the prestigious Dhaka Premier Cricket League.
But if the Prime Bank loses and Prime Doleshwar beat Mohammedan Sporting Club, the title will be decided by net run-rate.
The head-to-head record, the first criteria for deciding between teams with equal points, is equal for Prime Bank and Prime Doleshwar as they beat each other once in the first phase and super league.
