Prime Minister leaves for China

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina left Dhaka Wednesday afternoon for Beijing on a 4-day official visit to China at the invitation of Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao. She was seen off at the airport by her Cabinet colleagues, deputy leader of the Parliament, advisers to the PM, senior leaders of Awami League, chiefs of Bangladesh Navy and Air Force, members of the diplomatic corps and senior officials. The high-profile visit of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to China since she came to power 15 months ago is seen by politicians, business community and the diplomatic circle as significant for boosting ties between Dhaka and Beijing.
