Prior permission needed for study tours, picnics

In the wake of drowning incidents, particularly in the bay, the ministry of education has decided to issue an order soon over the study tour and picnic by students. “Any student or a group who will go on study tour or picnic will have to take permission from the head of the respective institutions. Security has to be ensured and information about the venue needs to be known ahead of the tour. The local administration has to be informed about the tour. An order will be issued from the ministry soon,” he said. The Education Minister was talking to reporters while visiting Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology to console its teachers and students as four of its students drowned and two others went missing in the waters of St Martin's on Monday, according to a news agency.
