Prison guard electrocuted

A prison guard died from electrocution at Dhaka Central Jail on Thursday. The dead is Ratan Khan, 35, bearing jail guard badge No. 12450. He was the son of Ali Azam of Jamalpur district. Nayon, another guard at the central jail, situated in Old Dhaka, said Ratan came in contact with a live electric wire and sustained injuries around 9:00am while he was hanging wet clothes with a cord for drying at the staff quarter inside the jail. Ratan was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where doctors declared him dead around 9:35am, according to a news agency.
