Prisoner dies in Magura

A convicted prisoner, who had been serving two years’ rigorous imprisonment in Magura Jail in a theft case, died on way to Magura Sadar Hospital on Saturday evening. The dead is Abdul Kuddus Sheikh, 60, son of Emarat Sheikh, a resident of Nikhorhata village in Mohammadpur Upazila of Magura district. Tyef Uddin Mia, superintendent of the district jail, said Abdul Kuddus died around 7:00 pm while being rushed to Magura Sadar Hospital after he complained of sickness. Later, on-duty doctor at the hospital declared him dead, said Dr Bikash Shikder of the hospital, according to UNB.
