Prisoner dies in Mymensingh

MYMENSINGH, Aug 30 (UNB): Nur Uddin alias Nuru Munsi (76), a prisoner and alleged protector of JMB militants, died at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital Wednesday.
Jail sources said Nur Uddin fell sick and became unconscious with chest pain in the district jail in the morning.
Later, he was rushed to the hospital where the attending doctors declared him dead.
Police said Nur Uddin, donor of the land for the much-talked about JMB militant training centre Jibantala Madrassah in Bhaluka Upazila, was arrested recently in a number of cases including patronising militancy and grabbing government forest lands.
