Private cars choking traffic in Dhaka
Thursday, 11 December 2014
When we go out in Dhaka we find too many private cars on the roads. We cannot blame people buying personal cars since public transport sector is in shambles. Recently the central bank has doubled the ceiling for a car loan and it will encourage more people to buy cars. Dhaka is a mega city with 16 million people, but compared to the population, the infrastructural network is not improving. If we can bring discipline in our traffic system, we can request people not to buy personal cars. Instead, the government should make public transport more comfortable and improve its standard.
