Private jute, twine mills workers demand wages like govt mills

Leaders of Bangladesh Private Jute and Twine Mills CBA Sangram Parishad Monday demanded wages similar to government jute mills and payment before Eid-ul-Azha for the workers, reports UNB.
They also demanded reopening of closed mills and introduction of equal salary and facilities for the workers of private Jute and Twine Mills like Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation (BJMC).
They made the demand at a press conference at Dhaka Reporters' Unity (DRU).
Central convener of the Parishad Tayebur Rahman read out a written statement.
The Parishad leaders demanded amendment to Labour Law 2006, rationing system for workers and operating mills and factories as per the Labour Law.
Tayebur Rahman said they would go for movement if their demands are not met. He announced mass hunger strike at Muktangon on November 11.
Sangram Parishad coordinator M Jahangir Alam Sabuj, joint convenor Najiur Rahman Nazrul, Sheikh Abdur Rashid, Samsul Alam, Khan Golam Rasul, among others, were present.
