The body of a private university teacher has been found three days after he went missing, police say. Rajib Ahsan’s body was found in a river in Rupganj Upazila in Narayanganj on Friday evening. Thirty-seven-year-old Ahsan was a part-time teacher at the Asian University of Bangladesh, serving at its Uttara campus, Rupganj Police Station OC Mir Asaduzzaman said. Ahsan, hailing from Chittagong’s Rauzan Upazila, resided in Uttara’s Turag area. He had recently converted to Islam before getting married to a Muslim girl, police said. Quoting the victim’s wife Asma Ahmmed, the OC said Ahsan had left for one of his student’s home three days ago from his Uttara residence. Locals had informed police of a floating body in the river near Demra. Ahsan’s body does not bear any signs of torture. Police suspect he was strangled before being dumped into the river, according to bdnews24.com.
