Pro-AL blue panel wins DU dean polls

Pro-Awami League (AL) teachers' platform known as Blue Panel swept the dean elections of Dhaka University (DU) Thursday, reports UNB.
The Blue Panel bagged eight posts while the BNP-Jamaat-backed White Panel two only.
Election Commissioner and DU treasurer Kamal Uddin conducted the polls and published the results in the afternoon.
The polls were held from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at Nawab Nabab Ali Chowdhury senate Bhaban of DU Thursday.
The 'Blue Panel' teachers who won the elections are-- Prof Dr ASM Maksud Kamal of Earth and Environmental Science Faculty, president of Dhaka University Teachers' Association (DUTA) Prof Dr Farid Uddin Ahmed of Social Science faculty, Prof Dr Aktaruzzaman of Arts faculty, Prof Dr Rafiqul Islam of Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Dr Md Imdadul Hoque of Faculty of Biological Sciences, Prof Shibli Rubayat Ul Islam of Faculty of Business Studies, Prof Dr Abdul Aziz of the faculty of Science and Professor Nisar Hosain of Fine Arts faculty.
Prof Dr ASM Maksud Kamal had been re-elected dean of the Earth and Environmental Sciences Faculty unopposed.
The 'White Panel' teachers who won the polls are Dr Md Saiful Islam of Faculty of Pharmacy and Dr Taslima Monsoor of the faculty of Law.
