Pro-BNP lawyers for work boycott

A group lawyers, from a rally of Jatiyabadi Ainjibi Forum in the city on Saturday called for a nationwide ‘stop work’ on Sunday after police foiled their proposed rally at Supreme Court premises in the morning. Police said the Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum did not have permission to hold rally there. The panel's chief Barrister Rafiqul Islam Mia, a BNP Standing Committee member, made work abstention call from the rally at National Press Club, also addressed by BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia. Khaleda Zia, who was scheduled to attend the rally at the Supreme Court premises, went to the Press Club to join the pro-BNP lawyers’ rally after police had foiled it in the apex court area, according to bdnews24.com.
