Pro-BNP org forms human chain against rape incidents in Chattogram

CHATTOGRAM Oct 12: Chattogram City Nari O Shishu Odhikar Forum, a pro-BNP organisation, formed a human chain on the press club premises in the port city on Monday, protesting growing rape incidents and sexual harassment and violence against women across the country.
President of Chattogram City BNP Dr Shahadat Hossain addressed the function as the chief guest while Convener of Chattogram South District BNP Abu Sufian and General Secretary of Chattogram City BNP Abul Hashem Bakkar spoke at the programme.
President of Chattogram City BNP Dr Shahadat Hossain in his speech said, "The children and women as well as general people have no security in the country. Our mothers, sisters cannot go out safely under the Awami League government. We want to save our people and democracy."
He called upon all to be united against rapists and criminals.
Convener of Chattogram City Nari O Shishu Odhikar Forum journalist Jahidul Karim Kochi presided over the function while Chattogram City Nari O Shishu Odhikar Forum leaders Dr Belayet Hossain Dhali, Shathi Udaya Kushum Barua and Engineer Selim Md Jane Alam, BNP leaders Engineer Belayet Hossain, Jelly Chowdhury, Kamrul Islam, Monjur Rahman Chowdhury and Hamid Hossain ddressed the function, among others.
