Probe body gives final report

The inquiry committee, formed after the fatal accident at the BRT project's Uttara site, submitted its final report on Thursday, more than 15 days after the mishap, whose preliminary report held the project's Chinese contractor responsible.
Neelima Akhter, additional secretary and the committee's convener, handed over the report to Road Transport and Highways Division (RTHD) secretary A B M Aman Uddin Nuri at around 6:00 pm.
Sobuj Uddin Khan, member secretary of the committee and Dhaka Zone additional secretary, and Asif Raihan, member of the committee and assistant professor of BUET, were present.
The RTHD secretary admitted receiving the report, but said it would not be open before Sunday.
"It is now under lock and key," he told the FE over phone.
