Probe ordered into Patuakhali RHD deals

The High Court has ordered a probe into suspected corruption by Patuakhali Roads and Highways Department (RHD) in auctioning obsolete equipment and materials. The bench of Justice Quazi Reza-ul Hoque and Justice ABM Altaf Hossain have issued the order on a writ petition. The court also issued a rule asking why the auction process should not be declared illegal. The communications secretary, RHD chief engineer, Barisal RHD additional chief engineer and Patuakhali district deputy commissioner, police superintendent and RHD executive engineer have been made respondents in the rule, according to bdnews24.com.
