Probe panel on Narsinghdi bus crash

The Narsinghdi district administration has formed a 3-member committee to investigate the bus accident that left 10 people dead on Dhaka-Sylhet highway. Narsinghdi Deputy Commissioner Abu Hena Morshed Jaman said: ‘The committee consists of Additional District Magistrate Zinnat Rehana, UNO of Shibpur Ashraful Absar and OC of Shibpur Police Station Khandaker Imam Hossain. The committee has been asked to submit report within three days.’ A Dhaka-bound ‘Shohagh Paribahan’ bus collided head-on with a Monohordi-bound bus at Kararchar on Dhaka-Sylhet highway around 5pm on Wednesday. Gas cylinders that exploded due to the impact of the collision set ablaze both the buses. The crash left 10 dead and 40 others injured. Among the dead, four died on the spot, three at Narsinghdi Hospital and three others died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, according to a news agency.
