Probir Sikdar released on bail

Journalist Probir Sikdar has been released on bail on Wednesday before expiry of a three-day remand. Judge of Cognisance Court-1 of Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court, Faridpur, M Hamidul Islam granted him bail in the morning. After securing bail from the Faridpur court, he was set free. On Tuesday, police was granted three days to interrogate the journalist, who is accused of ‘libel’ against LGRD minister Khandker Mosharaff Hossain in a case filed under the ICT Act. Lawyer Swapan Paul , the plaintiff of the case , said police had finished interrogation of Sikdar and so he was produced in court before expiry of remand. Paul has sued Sikdar over his Facebook post allegedly ‘defaming’ LGRD  Minister Khandker Mosharraf Hossain, according to bdnews24.com.
