Procure new kit to detect formalin: HC

The High Court (HC) on Monday asked the government to procure appropriate device to detect formalin in foodstuffs and fruits. An HC bench comprising Justice Salma Masud Chowdhury and Justice M Khasruzzaman passed the order following a BCSIR report stating that the impugned formalin detection kit, ‘Formaldehyde Meter Z-300’, is not a proper one to detect the chemical in fruits and foodstuffs, according to a news agency.
