Production in 16 BSCIC units begin

Production in 16 units of 11 industrial estates of Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) began in the last three months, reports BSS.
A total of 775 people were employed in the 16 units set up at a cost of Tk 160.3 million (16.03 crore) in BSCIC estates at Keraniganj, Rajbari, Jamalpur, Tongi, Manikganj, Faridpur, Narsingdi, Barisal, Laxmipur, Dhamrai and Narayanganj, BSCIC sources said here Monday.
They said goods, including bread, biscuits, knit fabrics and garment, fertiliser, pulses, ice creme stick, grill, gate, PVC pipe and enamel wire worth Tk nearly 404.6 million (40.46 crore) is expected to be produced annually in the BSCIC industrial units which began its operation from January last.
Goods of Tk nearly 105 million (10.50 crore) is expected to be exported annually.
Besides, a total of 3,477 units in 74 industrial estates across the country were in production till December last year.
