Production starts in Mobarakganj Sugar Mill

JHENAIDAH, Nov 17 (UNB): Mobarakganj Sugar Mills in the district started production Friday for the on-going crushing season 2007-08.
Mill sources said the crushing programme began with a production target of 13,025 tonnes of sugar by crushing 180,000 tonnes of sugarcane.
Managing Director of the mill ATM Ali Ashraf formally inaugurated the crushing at a simple ceremony.
The mill incurred a loss of more than Tk 50 million (5.0 crore) producing 12,798 tonnes of sugar and crushing 182,972 tonnes of sugarcane last year, mill sources said.
