NARAYANGANJ, Aug 6 (UNB): Production in 200 small and medium factories in DND area remained suspended due to stagnant water caused by heavy rainfall.
The stagnant water entered into the factories of handloom, cotton mill, 'chanachur,' bakery, bulb, candle and fan forcing stoppage of production and rendering the labourers unemployed.
Owners of these factories are incurring huge loss due to suspension of production.
Moreover, the small businessmen, who are running their business taking loans from banks or financial institutions, are in high tension as interest against the loans has been increasing daily.
Abu Bakar, owner of a biscuit factory, said though production in the factory has remained suspended he is to pay regular instalments of the loan money.
