MANY students take tea/coffee or even smoke in order to keep themselves awake and study for long hours. May be these help them remain awake, but driving away sleeping conditions through taking tea/coffee or smoking cigarette do have negative reactions on the body.
What is the best way of keeping yourself awake and studying for long hours? Taking spiritual food could be the best option for being energised and stimulated. Mahatma Gandhi said, “Whenever I become tired and fall in problematic situation, I go back to the Gita, the Gita is like my mother.” Just as a child goes to its mother in time of need, so went Gandhi to the Gita and was immensely benefited. Gandhi used to read the Gita at least two times a day.
Maxim Gorky was frustrated at one point in his life. He got a poem in hand, recited and got stimulated. He got new direction in life through reading the poem. He used to recite the poem whenever he suffered from frustration.
If you want to be great in life, you may be benefited by reading the biographies of those great persons, or may read the books written by them. Acharjo Prafulla Chandra Roy used to get inspiration from the famous scientist and political leader Benjamin Franklin. Franklin’s autobiography inspired him for the whole life.
You may collect the photographs of those persons who inspire you to work hard in life. You may spend a few minutes in looking at their photographs everyday, think about their achievement and get inspired to study for long hours.
You may choose the selected lines from your most favourite book and copy them in your note book. Read them when you are tired. Try to realise the meanings of those lines. You will see that you are feeling fresh both mentally and physically. You will be ready to do any work, will be able to study for long hours and can remain wake up at nights for the sake of preparing your lessons.
