Prof Anisuzzaman honoured

Ghashful, a media house, honoured Professor Emeritus Anisuzzaman on the occasion of its fourth anniversary at a function at the National Press Club in the city recently, said a press release. Prof Hayat Mamud, a litterateur and educationist presided over the function and handed over a crest to Professor Anisuzzaman. Rawnak Sultana and Dr Raqibul Hasan, on behalf of Ghashful, also handed over a Kashmiri shawl and cash reward to Professor Anisuzzaman. The function started with folk tune of flute played by Norman Perin, a Canadian folk singer and researcher. Prof Safiuddin Ahmed and Prof Syed Muhammad Shahed addressed the function. Singer Nashid Kamal, Dr Khairul Alam Sabuj, Dhonu Sattar, Mohiujjaman Chowdhury Moyna, Abdur Rahman, Shabnam Hasan Sumon, Ruksana Akhter Rupsha and Sanjid performed songs while Joyonto Roy, Nishat Jahan Rana, Mashkur A Sattar Kollol, Rabiya Sultana Panna and Ferdous Ara Kobita recited poems. Ibtida Farhat Tropa conducted the function.
